ABSTRACT:
This article critically examines the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and its role in addressing educational exclusions in India. While NEP 2020 aims to create an inclusive and equitable education system, historical barriers—such as castebased discrimination, gender disparity, regional imbalances, and economic constraints—continue to hinder its success. The article explores these dimensions of exclusion and evaluates the policy’s effectiveness in bridging these gaps through targeted scholarships, gender inclusion funds, mother tongue-based education, and digital learning initiatives. Through case studies and data analysis, this study highlights the digital divide as a major concern, particularly in rural areas, where inadequate infrastructure and financial limitations prevent equitable access to technology-driven learning through case studies methodology. The article also discusses the limitations of NEP 2020 in terms of policy implementation, resource allocation, and systemic challenges. Finally, recommendations are provided to strengthen digital access, enhance teacher training, and improve financial aid mechanisms to ensure that NEP 2020 achieves its vision of inclusive education.
