Human Resource Management students of the 2023-25 batch gained valuable insights during their Industrial Visit
Industrial Tour is an integral part of PGDM- Human Resource Management (HRM) Programme curriculum. From 21 September to 2 October 2024, the HRM Batch of 2023-25 embarked on an extensive Industrial Tour, covering Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. Traditionally, these tours included only four major cities, but with the expansion of the batch size and heightened industry engagement, Hyderabad was introduced as an additional destination this year. The group was accompanied by mentors Dr Shyamal Gomes, Dr Mrityunjoy Roy, Dr Kumar Mohit Spring, Dr Binit Lakra, and Dr Indrani Ghatak.

During the Industrial Tour, students gained valuable practical exposure to current industry and corporate trends, deepening their understanding of working conditions, processes, and employee welfare. The tour provided insights into the implications of labour laws, industrial relations practices, and HRM strategies across various industries. One-on-one interactions with senior HR and IR professionals offered students an opportunity to discuss key issues and gain firsthand knowledge of the diverse HR policies adopted by organizations, which set them apart from their competitors. This engagement allowed students to understand the dynamic landscape of HRM practices and their direct application in different corporate environments.
The industrial visit was a transformative experience for the students, seamlessly combining classroom learning with practical industry exposure. During the ten days of the tour, students also had a positive and enriching experience at the Alumni Meet, which served as the tour’s conclusion.
