PRAKRITI : THE RURAL MANAGEMENT CLUB OF XISS

Prakriti, the official club of Rural Management Programme aims to highlight and showcase the departmental initiatives on various social media platforms. The objective of the clubs are:
- To showcase the Rural Management Programme related to on-campus and off-campus activities and act as a link among various stakeholders.
- To promote and enhance the students’ skills and creativity through events and ventures.
- To express, document and publish views of stakeholders on diverse issues.
Prakriti showcases various programmes and initiatives of RM students which may include:
- Thursday Lectures and Talk Series: Every Thursday, experts from various sectors relevant to Rural Management are invited to share their knowledge and experiences. These sessions provide students with valuable insights into industry trends, challenges, and best practices.
- Urban Field Exposure: As part of their curriculum, first-year students engage in Urban Field Exposure, where they visit designated urban slums over two trimesters. During this period, they work closely with community members to identify prevalent issues and develop strategic measures for their mitigation. This initiative fosters community-driven solutions and strengthens students' field-based learning.
- CSR Conclave: The CSR Conclave brings together senior professionals from the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) sector to discuss various industry-relevant topics. Experts also pitch their ideas for impactful projects, providing students with a deeper understanding of CSR initiatives and corporate-community partnerships.
- Conferences: The program organizes multiple conferences featuring industry experts who discuss emerging trends and challenges in the field of Rural Management. These conferences serve as a platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and professional development.
- Rural Camp: Throughout the two-year program, students participate in a series of Rural Camps under the guidance of faculty supervisors. These camps include:
- First Camp:Focuses on rapport-building exercises and conducting socio-economic surveys to understand the community's needs.
- Second Camp: Involves Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) to identify key issues affecting the region.
- Third Camp:Dedicated to preparing a micro-plan for addressing the identified challenges.
The primary objective of these camps is to ensure active stakeholder engagement, where community members play an integral role in the decision-making process.
- Student and Alumni Achievements: The accomplishments of Rural Management students and alumni are celebrated across various social media platforms, recognizing their contributions and milestones in the field.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The program is structured into four key verticals, each playing a vital role in managing events and outreach efforts:
- Convenor: Bhavya
The convenor is the primary coordinator ensuring the smooth execution of events and initiatives. They lead and oversee all the verticals, facilitating collaboration between teams while engaging with industry experts and faculty.
- Liaison Team: Nishant Prasad, Abhishek T. Tirkey, Gouri Sharma, Anshika Mishra
Responsible for coordinating all program events, managing social media handles and official communications, and facilitating collaboration between different verticals.
- Content Team: Bhavya, Sheewaangi Ramya, Shambhavi
Oversees content creation for social media and publications, highlighting student and alumni achievements.
- Design Team: Lisha Sinha, Mayank Khandelwal, Smita Sarkar
Creates visually appealing social media posters and promotional materials for events and accomplishments.
- Photography Team: Basil Ayush Shah, Ishita Beck, Suman Kachhap, Abhishek Alex Pandey, Shreya Tirkey, Rohan Singh
Captures photographs and videos of program events, ensuring high-quality documentation and media coverage.
