Background

Dr Manindra Rajak completed his schooling at High School Bhuli Nagar, Dhanbad. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribagh, and pursued a Post Graduate Diploma in Information Management from Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi.
He later joined the Department of Management Studies and Industrial Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, where he undertook extensive research for seven years. He was awarded the Ph.D. degree for his thesis titled “A Study of mHealth in the Context of India” under the supervision of Dr Krishnendu Shaw.

Professional Experience

Industry Experience: Over 3 years of professional experience in the industry, where he gained practical exposure to business and management practices.
Research Project Experience: Around 1 year of experience working on a sponsored research project (Coal India), contributing to applied research and field-level insights.
Academic Experience: Served as Assistant Professor at GITAM (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru for 3 years. Currently working as Assistant Professor, Financial Management at Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi since September 2025.

Achievements

Recipient of the Ph.D. Fellowship from MHRD, Government of India; awarded the Inder Mohan Thapar Research Award for Best Research in the Department for the year 2022.
Research Contributions: Currently serving as Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) in an ICSSR-sponsored project titled: “Understanding the Drivers and Barriers of Adopting Solar Pumps under PM Kusum Yojana among Marginalized and Tribal Farmers in Jharkhand.”
