Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi, and the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce & Industries (FJCCI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster collaboration between academia and industry, with a focus on inclusive and sustainable development in Jharkhand on 11 February 2026.

The agreement outlines cooperation in industrial skill-gap analysis, in which faculty and students will undertake data-driven studies across industries to inform policy briefs and workforce development strategies. FJCCI will also support industry-oriented curriculum customization through expert inputs and guest lectures, helping bridge the gap between classroom learning and market requirements.

This MoU was formally signed by Dr Joseph Marianus Kujur, Director, XISS and Aditya Malhotra, President FJCCI in the presence of Dr Amar Tigga, Dean Academics, and Dr Anant Kumar, Head of Rural Management Programme along with Rohit Poddar and Navjot Alang from FJCCI.

A key component is the creation of a structured internship and placement pipeline, enabling XISS students to access practical training and employment opportunities within FJCCI’s industry network. The MoU further promotes joint research and advocacy on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including health, education, environmental sustainability, and women’s empowerment, through seminars, conferences, and programme development.

Both institutions will collaborate on CSR-linked rural development and livelihood initiatives, aligning industrial growth with social impact, and engage in joint policy advocacy and media outreach to strengthen evidence-based contributions to state and national policy discourse.
