XISS Rural Development Batch 1999–2001 reunites, celebrating a legacy of impact
Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi witnessed a heartwarming reunion of 40students from the Rural Development, Batch of 1999-2001 to celebrate their Silver Jubilee year in the campus on Saturday. This batch came together to reminisce, celebrate achievements, and strengthen bonds.
Through his welcome address, Dr Anant Kumar, Head of Rural Management Programme welcomed all the alumni back to their alma mater and thanked them for their continued support.
In his opening address, Dr Joseph Marianus Kujur SJ, Director, XISS said on behalf of XISS, I extend my deepest appreciation to this remarkable batch of alumni, whose journey stands as a testament to the enduring strength of the foundation we have built together. Over the years, you all have exemplified what it means to grow from strength to strength, carrying forward the spirit and values of XISS with distinction. Your continued engagement in the institutional activities through mentorship, support in internships and placements has been invaluable in shaping the XISS legacy. We take immense pride in your accomplishments, for your success is a reflection of our shared vision. As torchbearers and ambassadors of XISS, you represent us with honor across the world, and for that, we are truly grateful.
One of the highlights of the event was the sincere sharing of experiences by each alumnus, providing a glimpse into their journey since graduating from XISS. The session was marked by nostalgia, laughter, and valuable insights gained over the years. A group dance performance, memory video added to the festive ambiance, showcasing the diverse talents of the alumni community.
Dr Pradeep Kerketta SJ, Dr Amar Tigga along with Heads of programmes, faculty members of Rural Management programme including Dr KK Bhagat, Dr Raj Shree Verma, Dr Pramil Panda, Dr Sourya Das, Dr Kusumavathi, Dr Hemant Tigga, Dr Sanjay Verma, and Former Heads of the Rural Development Department, including Dr M. H. Ansari, Dr Himadri Sinha and Dr Sanjay Basu Mallik’s presence added immense value to the occasion.
The program continued with more alumni sharing their experiences, followed by a special felicitation ceremony by the Director and Head of Programme where each alumnus was honoured for their contributionand achievements in their respective fields.
The programme was successfully executed with the coordinated efforts of the students from 2024–26 batch, ensuring smooth conduct and active engagement throughout. The event concluded with a vote of thanksby Dr Niranjan Sahoo, expressing gratitude to the alumni and faculty members for their continued association and valuable contributions to the institution.
