XISS students participate in Blood Donation Drive organsied by Red Cross Society
Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi, in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of Social Revolution (RCSR), participated in a blood donation drive held on 12 January 2026 at Lok Bhawan, Birsa Mandap, Ranchi. The camp was organized by the Indian Red Cross Society, Ranchi Branch, with the objective of strengthening blood reserves for medical emergencies, surgeries, and patients suffering from chronic illnesses.
A total of 14 members from XISS participated and actively donated blood during the drive, demonstrating a strong sense of compassion, civic responsibility, and commitment to humanitarian service. The initiative witnessed an overwhelming response overall, with more than 400 donors participating from various educational institutions, including Ranchi University and Usha Martin University.
The blood donation camp was conducted with strict medical screening, safe collection protocols, and efficient coordination to ensure that each unit of blood retained its full life-saving potential. In recognition of their voluntary service, all participating XISS donors were awarded certificates of appreciation by Shri Nitin Madan Kulkarni, Additional/Principal Secretary to the Governor.
The participation of XISS students reflects the institute’s enduring commitment to social service and youth-led community engagement. Held at a prominent government venue, the camp highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts between educational institutions, civil society organizations, and government authorities in addressing blood shortages across Jharkhand.
This successful initiative stands as a powerful reminder of the impact of voluntary blood donation and serves as an inspiration for continued citizen participation in building a healthier and more resilient society.
